Management
Uma maheswaran is the Managing Director for Brakes & Automotive. He is responsible for the operations, balancing growth and stability.
He is credited with driving productivity through his rich 20 years of engineering experience, and accelerating growth through sharing of common processes and best practices. He started his career as a Design Engineer for tooling and machines and worked in this position for 7 years,and joined Eicher Motors before he joined Mando India in 1998, Mando supplies Brake parts to Hyundai, Ford &Renault, It later added suspension and steering to its products portfolio. Mando was a JV Company formed by Mando Korea and Anand group of India.
Uma was heading the engineering team in Mando responsible for “process design”, during his tenure he was heading many car projects which involved in designing and manufacturing /testing brake related products lines for calipers, master cylinder, drum brake, wheel cylinder and boosters.
He was heading Technology transfer from Mando Korea & Continental teves Germany, by travelling many times to Korea ,Germany and other countries like China, France, Swiss and Czech Repbulic.
During his 12 years in Mando he has established the complete manufacturing process, comprising designing/buying machines, gauges, fixtures, tools and material handling equipments.
Uma has been conferred with many Engineering excellence awards and Productivity awards, in International conference on Operations Research ( ICORD) he was awarded for the First best paper on Supply chain management, Uma holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Anna University, Post Dip in Tool design from Central Institute of Technology.
